Dermatofibroma

Figure 01

A dermatofibroma is a firm, dome-shaped, brown- to pink-colored nodule that is darker than the surrounding skin color. More often, it is found on the thighs, legs, and arms and can be mistaken for a mole. It can be surgically removed by your dermatologist under local anesthesia; however, a dermatofibroma can often come back after removal. A dermatofibroma is not a precancerous growth. [Figure 1]
